My team consisted of 3 other members, Dani, Teia, and Alina. Originally, we chose to do something that would be beyond our scope of math. We attempted to do some pre-calculus on top of the graphing and it didn't turn out so well. In the end, we decided to make a graph out of beads that would be held together by some fishing wire that was clear; the bottoms would have to be extremely accurate or straight to show data that was correct.
Some initial problems that we had in this project were materials and data collecting. First of all, we needed to find a person or a survey size that represented a vast majority of the school. Next, we need to find a person who was able to send a survey out to all of those people, Ms. Aleida as the easiest choice. Once we had our data, we had basically the graph in electronic format and all we needed to do was make a physical version. The one we went for was the one mentioned above, with fishing wire and beads. The next major problem that occurred was materials for the graph. Although it seems simple, we need a place to hang, a piece of wood long enough to accommodate the number of positions on the graph, and a place to hang the wires. It took us basically the whole time to finish these tasks and that left us with no time to theorize or use forms of calculus.
